Tile Restoration

Your original Victorian or Edwardian tiles have likely seen over 100 years of dirt and grime. They may well have been smashed in places to make way for pipes or to fix screws and carpet grippers. With the correct techniques and a healthy dose of elbow grease they can be reinvigorated close to their original splendour!

Aside from the years of under carpet dirt, the tiles below were badly tarnished with paint and cement. This was hand scraped and spot cleaned before rotary cleaning with non acidic products. Repairs were made with reproduction tiles around the radiator pipes before allowing the floor to fully dry out ready for sealing.

Here we can see the removal of a cracked sub floor in two main areas. We patch the area in with sand and cement before re-tiling. The original tiles are used wherever possible; some reproduction tiles were used here. The floor was then cleaned and sealed.
